First Lego League (as a part of Team Jammin’ It)

Theme: ‘City Shaper’

Problem Statement

1) Emergency medical services face delays in reaching hospitals due to traffic congestion.

2) Increasing vehicular density leading to prolonged commute times and road congestion.

3) Hawkers occupying significant pedestrian spaces, causing congestion and hindering walkability.

Solutions devised in the EV3 LEGO Robotic model –

1) A system where ambulances can navigate through traffic by utilizing elevated lanes.

2) Replacing traditional street-side parking with multi-level automated parking facilities.

3) Developed a city-wide “Autopark” app to efficiently manage and guide users to available parking spaces.

4) Integrate hawker zones into the multi-level smart park system to avoid the congestion of pedestrian streets while preserving the heritage of several Indian cities.

How does it work?

Autopark Application: The app displays real-time parking availability, rates, and navigation, utilizing GPS, sensors and city-wide parking infrastructure data for accurate real-time information, enables users to plan their parking strategy based on current traffic conditions, parking fees and available spaces; automates parking fee payment, thereby avoiding corruption.

Smart Zone for Hawkers: Designation of specific zones equipped with smart infrastructure to accommodate street vendors; integration with the multi-level parking system optimizes space allocation and ease congestion.
